Faux Ox CD Release at Church: I spy with my little eye members of Jaggery, Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling and a slew of other Boston Music die-hards. Dig friend and snap-happy man about town Mick Murray was there and caught the following shenanigans on film:
White Life, Krisjin and DJ LeahV at the Milky Way: This is a perfect example of a “Jesus CHRIST there should be WAY more people here to see this!” kind of instances, where the band is fucking fantastic and the energy is great and no one knows who this band is yet because they’re not from here. Big mistake, those of you who didn’t hit the Milky Way last night. White Life (of B-More) makes fun music, hosts a fantastic dance party and delivers. Sleepy Very Sleepy’s last show at TT’s: Major “womp womp wooomp” action as another great Boston band hangs up their hats--as SVS, anyway. I ran into Dig contributor Pete Legasey in Central while I was trying to hail a cab to JP and he was ridiculously stoked for the set, as they’re one of his favorite bands. Laura Cortese’s Birthday Bash at the Lizard Lounge: Nick Balkin of Kingsley Flood was there for the Bandana Splits; Nikki Dessingue of Stereo Telescope was working behind the bar and therefore had one of the best seats in the house. Says Nikki via Gchat this morning of the bill: “Lovely ladies with some lovely accents and songbird voices shredding guitars, violins and whiskey drinks. My kinda night.” Ours too! Wish we could’ve been in two places at once. Le sigh.
